Watamu is a small wonderful fishing village on the coast of Kenya, geographically central and far from the state borders, famous for its stretches of white beach so thin they look like talcum powder.  

Watamu is the first Marine Park in Kenya, on the southern coast, 120 kilometers from Mombasa and 20 km from Malindi, a short distance from the entrance to the Tsavo East Park.

What to do in Watamu?

At least 500 different species of colorful fish live in this uncontaminated natural paradise; you can go diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing and practice kite surfing and various water sports. The landscape is characterized by the presence of some rocky islands (the most evocative is nicknamed the Island of Love) which, at low tide, can be reached on foot by walking between the sand atolls and the pools of crystal clear and very warm water . The tides create indescribable natural spectacles, the landscape changes before your eyes every 12 hours, beautiful and unique in the world!!!

Gede is a 4th century village nestled in the Arabuko Sokoke Forest XNUMX km from Watamu. The buildings are made of coral, earth and chalk, some with inscribed designs. They include a mosque, a palace, houses and tombs. The style is classified as Swahili architecture. The lost city of "Gedi"
